(x) Event or program sponsored by educational On Jan 12, 2012 Donna Scharn (James), Program Director of KMTK, went to career day for 5th graders at the
institution(s) relating to career opportunities Ensworth Elementary School in Bend. She talked about the skills needed to be a broadcaster, internships and what on air people do from news to music and related some lifestyle stories. She held a 30 minute question and answer session with them afterward.
Frank Bonacquisti, Program Director of KBND, Went to Kelsey Stones’s Technology class at Skyview Middle School on Tuesday April 17th. He spoke before a class of 8th graders about what is needed to be successful in radio broadcasting…computer skills, good language skills, etc. He also highlighted the opportunity of future internship if they have that available in their high school.
6/6/12 Chuck Chackel spoke to COCC’s Marketing 1 class. Topics included the value of “traditional” media (radio, print) the incorporation of e-media, the Oregon market, and other topics.
6/7/12 Ron Alvarez and K.C. Lettenmaier met with Mrs. Erica Nyden’s third grade class at Pine Ridge Elementary school to explain to the class about working as an on air talent in radio broadcasting. They did mini-version of their show with the kids as helpers and then asked for questions from the class.
(xi) Sponsorship of community event designed Sponsored and manned booth at the Central Oregon
to inform and educate members of the public .business expo. Jamie Fox manned the booth and we
as to employment opportunities in broadcasting. Informed the public of what we do and put out flyers
for current job openings of sales people and promotion
director.
