Adopt the cat |
|
Have you been thinking about adopting a cat or kitten, but the adoption fee is a concern?
Now is the time to adopt the cat you’ve been dreaming of and receive a discount, too! Cat Rescue, Adoption & Foster Team, your local nonprofit, no-kill sanctuary run entirely by volunteers, is having a special St. Patrick’s Day campaign that gives substantial discounts to people upon approval of their adoption application.
All CRAFT cats and kittens have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated and ID chipped, and come with a free carrier and packet of goodies.
Between Saturday, March 10 and Sunday, March 18, all cats and kittens can be adopted for a price matching the date. For instance, on March 10, the adoption fee will be only $10. On March 15, the fee would be just $15. (The average adoption fee this time of the year is $25 for adult cats and $40 for kittens.
Photos and information on most of the cats and kittens can be seen on the CRAFT website, www.craftcats.org. Directions to the sanctuary can also be found there. Or you can call 541-598-5488, 389-8420 or 647-2181 for further information.
CRAFT is located at 65480 78th St., Bend, just off Highway 97 and Tumalo Road. |

A Story... exhibition |
|
Story... exhibition, guest artist Mardi Wood at High Desert Gallery.
Event Description: High Desert Gallery is excited to announce guest artist, Mardi Wood, February 17 to April 11, 2012. “A Story..”, exhibition is featured at High Desert Gallery, 10 NW Minnesota Avenue at The Oxford Hotel in downtown Bend, Oregon.
Mardi Wood's ceramic work is the result of a process developed over many years of making. Evidence of the artist's hands can be felt in her paper-thin cups and bowls. The balance and subtle weight of each piece have been created by fine adjustments made at every step of construction. Inspired by her roots in the Northwest and her family home on the Columbia River, Woods' vessels are painted with layers of glaze and oxides built up during repeated firings.
Woods now lives in Northern California, and has a second residence in Italy. Images of Maremmana cattle, drawn from the Italian landscape, often appear in her recent work.
