Story... exhibition, guest artist Mardi Wood at High Desert Gallery.
Event Description: High Desert Gallery is excited to announce guest artist, Mardi Wood, February 17 to April 11, 2012. “A Story..”, exhibition is featured at High Desert Gallery, 10 NW Minnesota Avenue at The Oxford Hotel in downtown Bend, Oregon.
Mardi Wood's ceramic work is the result of a process developed over many years of making. Evidence of the artist's hands can be felt in her paper-thin cups and bowls. The balance and subtle weight of each piece have been created by fine adjustments made at every step of construction. Inspired by her roots in the Northwest and her family home on the Columbia River, Woods' vessels are painted with layers of glaze and oxides built up during repeated firings.
Woods now lives in Northern California, and has a second residence in Italy. Images of Maremmana cattle, drawn from the Italian landscape, often appear in her recent work.

Curious Comedy Tour |

The Curious Comedy Tour is a traveling variety show from Seattle Washington. The show features two of the premier comedy/variety acts on the West Coast. Louie Foxx and Matt Baker are two separate, but equally funny professional entertainers who have combined forces for a hilarious show that is fun for of all ages. A show chalked full of magic, juggling, music, odd skills, audience participation and a whole lot of comedy, the Curious Comedy Tour is a show you don’t want to miss. Between the two of these accomplished performers they have performed over 4,000 shows, have appeared on America’s Got Talent, Last Comic Standing and have made people laugh in over 16 different countries. Both of them even have multiple Guinness World Records.
